    On April 16th, 2024, American FCC issued the first edition of KDB 364244 D01 standard, and the new KDB364244D01mmeas 15.255 RADARS V01 is a guiding procedure for the revised 15.255 radar equipment certification.

    The main contents of KDB 364244 D01 standard are as follows:

    1, 15.255 radar equipment is divided into the following categories:

    2. 15.255 Radar equipment certification needs to pass PAG review.

    The applicant should provide the contents according to the requirements of Appendix B (9 items in total), and it needs to be explained and proved to meet the requirements in order to speed up the PAG application.

    3. Matters needing attention in testing:

    A. The test configuration confirms that the test distance of radiation test (the distance between the transmitting antenna and the test antenna) should be greater than or equal to the far-field distance;

    B. The test instrument confirms that in order to improve the dynamic range of the test, a low noise floor amplifier is needed; Pay attention to the image frequency when using mixer; To measure the peak power of pulse radar with spectrometer, it is necessary to correct the measurement results with pulse desensitization coefficient.     4, test project requirements and methods:

    A. Bandwidth measurement: pulse radar measures 10dB bandwidth, and ANSI C63.10-2020 chapters 9.3 and 9.4 provide testing procedures for 10dB bandwidth and 99% bandwidth;

    B. Power measurement. In 15.255, the peak EIRP is mostly required to be measured. The peak EIRP can be measured directly, or the average EIRP can be measured and the peak EIRP can be calculated considering the duty ratio. Testing power no longer requires the forced use of RF detectors;
