According to the Rules for the Release of Cross-border Goods (for Battery-powered Goods) issued by TikTok Shop (Cross-border between Britain and Southeast Asia), all sellers selling electronic goods containing batteries on this platform must strictly abide by these new rules to ensure the accuracy and transparency of product information and protect consumers' right to know and choose.
According to the new regulations, all electronic products with batteries released by sellers on TikTok Shop must comply with the corresponding rules for putting them on the shelves. The specific requirements are as follows:
★ Products powered by dry batteries: The seller needs to indicate the type of dry batteries used, whether the batteries are included and the battery life of conventional dry batteries in the product release information.
★ Lithium battery-powered products: The seller must indicate the battery capacity (such as 2000mAh), battery life after full charge and battery maintenance instructions in the product details.
★ Special commodities: such as Bluetooth headsets, neck-hanging fans, vacuum cleaners, etc., and the battery usage in different gears and different usage scenarios should also be indicated. For example, the listening time and talking time of a single charge of the Bluetooth headset, the battery life of the neck-hanging fan at different wind speeds, etc.
01 New regulations on Amazon products containing button batteries
On April 18th, Amazon USA released a new regulation on "consumer goods containing button cell or coin batteries". This regulation requires that merchants selling consumer goods containing button cell or coin batteries on Amazon platform must provide effective compliance documents to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, otherwise the corresponding goods will be prohibited from being displayed by Amazon. The specific requirements are as follows:
Under this provision, if the seller's products have button cell or coin batteries, the following operations are required:
◆ You need to submit a GCC certificate (a statement document indicating that you have passed the UL 4200A standard test);
◆ A product packaging drawing with bar code (with warning signs, such as danger of eating by mistake);
◆ An experimental test report of UL 4200A approved by ISO 17025 (including product pictures, which proves that it is the same as the Listing products).

TEMU platform requires battery certification (conforming to IEC/EN62133 or UL2054/UL1642 standards) and temperature test report. The platform requires that the seller can only put it on the shelves after providing relevant certification and test reports.
